FOR THE COOK
Pfeffer Nlssin Biscuits. Sift 14 cups flour, measure and sift twice with 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon cloves, 1 teaspoon salt. Lightly mix in 4 cup shredded almonds and 3 tablespoons chopped citron. Beat 2 eggs and blend thoroughly with 1} cups brown sugar. Combine with dry ingredients, adding more flour for ease in handling. Roll into sticks and cut in lin. pieces. Leave in refrigerator for 1 hour or more. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a moderate oven (375 degrees) about 18 minutes. Yield: Three dozen. Honey Gingernuts.
Sift 14 cups flour, measure and sift twice with 14 teaspoons baking powder, 4 teaspoon, salt, and 14 teaspoons ginger. Lightly mix tn 4 cup chopped nuts. Mix 4 cup strained honey, 4 cup sugar, 4 cup melted butter, and 1 beaten egg.
Stir liquid ingredients into the dry, adding more flou r if necessary to make a batter of right consistency to drop from spoon on a greased cookie sheet; Bake in a moderately hot oveu (400 degrees), 10 minutes. Yield: Three dozen.
