AUTUMN ACTIVITIES

Y.W.C.A. Plans For Colder Months

Although the days are still warm, they are getting shorter and attention is therefore turning toward autumn activities. The Y.W.C.A. is alive to the needs of business women and indeed of all women and girls for suitable activities for the leisure time of the colder months. Next week the mixed class for ballroom dancing begins. This has always been a very large class of enthusiastic members. There is already a long list of enrolments, but .the hall is large, and newcomers will be made very welcome, Last year at the request of several business girls, the choir came into being. There art other choral societies in existence, but this one should appeal to the business woman and girl, who can come for the evening meal, and then remain to sing.

An innovation for 1938 is the French club. This will take the form of tea followed by a.social hour, and the aim is to gain fluency in speaking the language. Already classes have commenced in Margaret Morris dancing, French and German. Classes still to jjc arranged are dressmaking, crafts, and play-reading. Further particulars fire, advertised.
