RECIPROCAL PENSION SCHEME
Mr. Lyons Confident Of Its Establishment By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. ((Received March 24, 1 a.m.) Canberra, March 23. Questioned on behalf of the New Zjealand Press Association, the Prime Minister, Mr. J. A. Lyons, to-night said he was hopeful and confident that something would be done regarding the establishing of a reciprocal pensions scheme between New Zealand and Australia. “We have deferred consideration of the matter for the time being,” he added ; “but I think there is every probability of provision being made for it, particularly as we are also proposing to grant British migrants reciprocal pension rights. “Certain difficulties exist which the treasurer, Mr. R. G. Casey, will deal with, but they are unlikely to prevent the attaining of the desired objective.”
