PETONE WEDDINGS
Westerby—Apes The wedding was solemnised recently at St. Augustine’s Church, Petone, of Joyce Doreen, daughter ot Mt', and Mt'fi. A. T. Apes, find Aubrey James, son of Mr. ami Mrs. G. Westerby. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. 8. Kenny. The bride, who was escorted _by her father, wore a gown of magnolia satin with fitting bodice and sleeves pleated at the top, tight fitting below the elbows and tapering to a point over the hands. The skirt was slim-fitting. The veil, which was beautifully embroidered, was held in place with a halo and finished with orange blossom. She. carried a sheath of white tiger lilies and white gladioli,, and on leaving the church whs presented with three horseshoes. ■ Her Sister, Miss E. Apes, who attended her, wore U frock of pink floral georgette trimmed with silver. She wore a halo in her hair and carried a bouquet of pink gladioli. Mr. A. Eales was best man. Eighty guests were entertained at the Masonic Hall, Petone, Mrs. Apen receiving them in a lido blue ensemble and hat and accessories of navy blue. Mrs. Westerby, the bridegrooms mother, wore. a frock of floral and black silk with hat and accessories to tone. When Mt 1 , and Mrs. A. J. Apes left for the South Island the latter wore a frock of grey and royal blue murticaiii, with hat and accessories of the same shade.
