Auckland Produce Markets

Dominion Special Service. Auckland, March 22. The chiet feature ot the local grain and produce markets is the large quantity of potatoes available, Pukekohe growers are digging their second crop, but local merchants prefer to deal in Manawatu tubers, which are of excellent quality and are available in ample quantities. The price has now been reduced by 10/- to £8 per ton. . . ±1 There has been an easing m the price of Garton oats and B grade are now quoted at 4/5 to 4/6 per bushel. Chaff is unaltered at £lO per ton. There has been no alteration m the prices of pojiltry foods. There has been a further easing in Australian pollard, which is now quoted at £9/10/- per ton through store, and at this figure business is brisk. Bran is steady at £6/15/- per ton, and onions from Pukekohe are unchanged at 11/6 per cwt.

LUSTRE HOSIERY, LTD.

Increased Profit Shown Lustre Hosiery, Ltd., Sydne)-, reports a net profit of £33,457 for the year ended December 31, compared witli £22.530 the previous year and £31,251 tor 1935. A fiiiql ordinary dividend of 4 per cent, is recommended, making 7J per cent, for the year, compared with 7J per cent, the previous year. The ordinary dividendjor the year requires approximately £17,852, and the preference dividend, also 75 per cent., requires £6560. A sum of_£Booo is transferred to reserve, and £15,097 is carried forward. It has been the custom to declare directors’ fees of £l6OO from tlie amount carried forward, so that if this is* continued the amount actually caroied into the current year will be £13,497. Depreciation provided for the year amounted to £20,792.
