Cambridge A Beat Hawke’s Bay By Telegraph—Press Association. Hamilton, March 22. Polo at its best was seen this afternoon, when the holders of the Saville Cup, Cambridge A, entered the final by narrowly beating Hawke’s Bay in a fast and spectaculars game. These teams were recognised as the strongest in the competition, and their meeting more than fulfilled expectations. Hawke's Bay, displaying superior combination, were early in the lead, and after the third chukka were leading by six goals to two. Playing daring polo and making the game one of the fastest seen in the Dominion, Cambridge A recovered brilliantly, with K. Peake notching four goals. The winners, who have held the trophy for two seasons, won by eight goals to seven. Scorers for Cambridge were K. Peake (4), L. (3)" and R- Peake (1), and for Hawke’s Bay Jock McKenzie (3), R. McKenzie (2) and W. Ormond (2). Other games resulted :— Junior Cup series: Morriiisville 7, Waihou 1; Waimai B 9, Cambridge C 4; Aotea 4, Matamata B 3; Waihou B 8, Cambridge D 3. Saville Cup, semi-final: Cambridge B 4, Matangi A 3.
