“VICTORIA REGINA”
Season Drawing To A Close Four nights remain of the season of the Fay Compton company at present appearing in “Victoria Regina” at the New Opera House, Wellington. The final matinee performance will be given on' Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The season cannot be extended beyond next Thursday, but arrangements have been completed for the company to reopen in Wellington on Easter Saturday, when a season of seven nights will be devoted to the presentation of “George and Margaret,” a comedy which has achieved outstanding success in England and America. Miss Compton, who is making her first Australian and New Zealand tour, under the direction of J. C. Williamson, Ltd:, has been associated with many West End successes. The ten colourful scenes Laurence Housman wrote for “Victoria Regina” introduce some of the most important features associated with the reign of Queen Victoria, and the story, ably woven together, forms one of the most interesting chronicles on record.
