Auctioneers’ Reports From Feilding Wilding, March 12. There was again a heavy yarding of breeding ewes and store lambs, report the associated auctioneers commenting on yesterday’s Feilding stock sale. Because of the continued dry weather buyers were shy to operate, and except for a few odd pens of good quality sound mouth ewes bidding was dull. Prices for both ewes and lambs showed a further decline. There are still a goodly number of farmers who have not yet purchased their requirements for the incoming season, but until autumn rains stimulate a growth of feed markets are unlikely to show any improvement on present prices. An average offering of fat sheep, came forward, but not up to late sales. Values for store lambs were down by 1/- on last week and at present prices must be considered good buying. Run cattle were yarded in increased numbers and a satisfactory sale resulted. Outside buyers again secured the bulk of the offering, with prices firm at late rates. A heavy yarding of beef met with improved demand, values showing a slight improvement. Dairy stock and potter cows again sold freely at last week’s rates.
