SURF LIFE-SAVING
Durrant Memorial Shield Contest Under the auspices of the Wellington Surf Life-Saving Assqciation, the Mara; nui Surf Club held a field day at Titahi Bay yesterday. Teams from the four Wellington clubs competed for the Durrant Memorial Shield, presented to the Maranui club for competition among the Wellington clubs, the result being a tie between Maranui and Lyall Bay. A team consisting of members of the New Zealand team which recently visited Australia gave a run out, using the Australian methods of drill and resuscitation. At the conclusion of the events Mrs. Durrant presented the shield, which will be held for six months each by the Maranui and Lyall Bay clubs.
