Sequel To Snipers’ Attack On Jewish Colony BOMBERS HELP POLICE IN ENCOUNTER By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received March 11, 5.5 p.m.) Haifa, March 11. Air Force bombers, assisting the police against 100 Arabs, killed 32 near Saled. The encounter began in the morning when troops met a small armed band tittempting to move southward, stoplied them and killed one. This was the sequel to snipers attacking the J ewish colony at Merchawa. Jews responded to the snipers’ fire, drawing blood. Bloodhounds followed a trail to Zirian, formerly the scriptual Jezreel, where they smelt out a man who had died of wounds and indicated two others who were arrested. The patrol took prisoner five Arabs at Urtas, near Bethlehem, wearing khaki uniforms under Bedouin cloaks. A military court at Haifa sentenced to death two Arabs for qarrying rifles. They tvere captured in an engagement at Jenin Hills, where a British soldier was killed and 100 Arabs killed and taken prisoner. Accused in evidence stated that 800 Arabs had captured them and compelled them to attack the British.
