King Watches Workmen
Assemble Planes (British Official Wireless.) (Received March 11, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, March 10. The King, attended by Viscount Swinton, Secretary of State for Air, deft London last night for a tour of the “shadow” factories. The train was left in a siding outside Birmingham, and this morning His Majesty began a tour of the factories in the neighbourhood, where work in connection with Royal Air Force expansion is being carried out. The Austin factory was the first visited, and the King spent some time watching workmen engaged in assembling aeroplanes and aero engines.
