COUNT VON LUCKNER

Lecture Tour Arranged

Count Felix von Luckner, the famous war-time figure, who is at present revisiting New Zealand, has been booked by the J. C. 'Williamson Picture Corporation and the Fuller-Hayward Theatre Corporation for a lecture tour in theatres throughout their circuits. The count, who recently gave a series of talks in Auckland, will commence his tour at the New Opera House, Wellington, next Saturday. From the stage lie will recount in his own cheerful and irresistible manner the story of his war adventures. He will tell of his career as a raider, his adventures on the Seeadler, his capture by the British, and his celebrated escape from Motuihi Island in Auckland. Many and varied stories have been written about the count’s escape and his subsequent commandeering of the scow Mon. and for the first time Count von Luckner will give his own version, not only of the actual escape, but of the months of careful preparation which preceded it. In addition to this thrilling side of the count’s talks, he brings a message of peace among the nations of the wferld. He is a particularly effective speaker and is said to live over again every incident which he recounts. Count von Luckner, who during the war earned the reputation of being not only a redoubtable foe but a splendid gentleman and friend, has a personality which impresses all who come in contact with him.
