Animal Welfare
Sir, —Two of your correspondents have drawn attention to the fact that the S.I’.C.A. is in need of funds. 1 am indeed sorry to hear it, and I enclose a > small donation, which 1 hope you will kindly forward to them. If the society would make a public appeal for funds and explain how the money is used for the benefit of animals, I feel sure that many would be glad to contribute. It should be remembered, as one of your correspondents pointed out, that animals when in trouble depend for help entirely on their friends among men. —I am, etc., W.B. Palmerston North, March S. [A cheque for £1 was enclosed with the above.]
