Hastings. February 2. The yarding, of fat cattle at Stortford Lodge to-day was again a small one and quality lines were very scarce. The ox beef yarding consisted of a draft of young bullocks, sold on account of 11. W. Holden. Makotuku, which; made to £l2 IG/-. The whole draft averaged £ll/17/-. Best hmfers made up to £9/16/-. The store sqeep yarding nupibered 20.000, a big percentage of which were breeding ewes. A very sound market ruled throughout. Some lines of aged ewes made to 13/-, five and six-year ewes, 16/6 to, 19/6, four-tooths 22/-. Best store wethers made to 22/3. There Was an excellent market for store lambs, shorn ewe lambs making up to 21/-. There was a medium yarding of fat sheep. Some of the realisations were: —

Store sheep: Account Taheke Station, 278 five-year breeding ewes, sound-mouth-ed, light condition, 1.8/4; from same station, 430 six-yeaf ewes. fairly-mouthecL mixed line, passed at 13/9; entry 'of 197 early shorn two and four-toothed wellframed wethers, good store order. 21/-; account Taheke Station. 355 four and six-tooth ewes, medium framed. light order, 22/6; from Craggy Range, 364 sixyear ewes, well-framed, 13/8: account Taheke Station, 280 two-tooth ewes, light condition. 21/-; line of 346 shorn whitefaced ewe lambs, off high country, well grown, good condition, 21/-; account I. Gordon, Haupouri, 474 early shorn, wellgrown two-tooth wethers, good store condition. 22/3; line of 138 six-year ewes, from k Waimarama. poorly mouthed. 13/-; line of 337 early shorn two-tooth wethers, medium-framed, offered as a result of the flood having taken off the whole of vendor’s riverbed grazing. 20/-'and 19/(in two lots) ; draft of white-faced woolly wether lambs, light condition, 15/9; line of woollv white-faced wether lambs, off high country, forward order. 17/5; account Taheke Station, 203 four-year ewes, light condition, 20/6.
