SURF LIFE-SAVING
Ryan Replaces Blakeley In New. Zealand Team F. G. Ryan. Oliawe, Taranaki, has been selected to replace J. C. Blakeley, Wellington, in the New Zealand surf life- * saving team which is to visit Australia next month. Blakeley is unable to go with the team for urgent business reasons. Ryan was a member of the Lyall Bayclub for many years, being in the senior team, and he has also been a successful competitor in the Nelson Shield competition. He made fastest time in the 1932 race for the Peck Shield, and he hag also represented Wellington at water-polo. He won the individual surf race at the New Zealand surf championships held at Christchurch last week. J;le is 32 years of age, sft. 9in. tall, and weighs 12st. 71b.
