AID FOR EX-SOLDIERS
Civil Re-Establish men t League Meets Mr. G. Mitchell presided at n meeting of the Wellington branch of the Soldiers’ Civil Re-establishment League this week. The Dominion organiser, Mr. )V. E. Leadlev, reported that 120 unemployed disabled' soldiers had been interviewed during the month, and that 14 had been placed in constant employment with Government departments and public bodies. It was decided to send deputations to the employers' association, the manufacturers’ association, and the chamber of commerce with a view to securing more suitable work for partially-disabled ex-sol-diers. It was reported that a successful sale had been held at the disabled soldiers' shop in Furish Street, receipts for December being greatly in excess of life corresponding month of last year. It was decided that :v women’s auxiliary of the league bo formed, and the following were appointed foundation members of the auxiliary, with power to add to their number: Mrs. Domiistoun-Wood (Thorndon). Mrs. G. A. King (Kclbnrn), .Mrs. C. Haslett (Miramar), Mrs, E. W Lamberg (Kilbirnie). Mrs. J. A. Luvett and Mrs. M. 1. Bunny (City). The auxiliary will meet next week to elect its officers and discuss plans for future activities.
