Japanese Computation Of Plane Losses (Received January 28, 12.10 a.m.) Toldo, January 27. The naval spokesman, Rear-Admiral Noda, stated that, from the outbreak of hostilities to January 25 plane losses have been: Chinese, 259 brought down in the air and 356 destroyed on the ground; Japanese, 18 and 71 respectively. He reiterated that the Japanese had no intention of occupying Hainan Island.
