Wairarapa Tennis Tourney MAJORITY ’ OF FINALS DECIDED Dominion Special See vice. Masterton, January 26. Fine weather favoured the Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association’s annual tournament. which was continued to-day. Most of the finals have now been played and the tourney will be concluded tomorrow. Following are the results of to-day s play:— CHAMPIONSHIPS. Men’s Singles. Filial: R. McL. Ferkins (Wellington) beat G. A. Pearce (Wellington), 6-1, 7-9, 6-4. Women’s Singles. Final: Mrs. A. D. Latham (Wellington) beat Miss M. L. Kerr (Dunedin), 3-6, 9-7, 6.2. Men’s Doubles, Third round: .Major and Reeves beat Maxwell and Connolly, 2-6, 9-7, 7-5: Hawksworth and Pearce beat Groves and Wilson, 7-5. 6-2. Semi-finals: Pearce and Hawksworth beat Latham and D. Ward. 6-2, 6-4; McLeod and Simpson beat Major and Reeves, 6 Final: P. Hawksworth and G. Pearce beat G. S. McLeod and G. Simpson, 6-3, 6-0. Women’s Doubles. Sernl-finals: Mrs. Hawksworth and -Miss Kerr beat Mrs. McLeod and Miss Elliott, 6-3. 6-1. Final: Mrs. Latham and Miss Wells boat Mrs. Hawksworth and Miss Kerr, 6-1, 7-5, Combined Doubles. Third round: Ferkins and Mrs. Ferkins beat Simpson and Miss Nelson, 6-2. 8-6; D. Ward and Mrs. Hawksworth beat Evans and Miss Rishworth, 6-4, 6-4; Hawksworth and Miss Wells beat Major and Miss Fryer, 8-6, 6.2. Fourth round: Faulkner and Miss Kilmister beat P. Ward and Miss Ward. 6-4, 5-7, 6-4: Pearce and Miss Kerr beat McLeod and Mrs. McLeod, 6-3. 3-6, 6-3. Semi-finals: Pearce and Miss Kerr beat Ferkins and Mrs. Ferkins. 6-2, 4-6, 6-4; Hawksworth and Miss Wells beat Faulk, nor and Miss Kilmister, 6-0, 6-3. Boys’ Singles. Final: A. ,T.
