DRIVERS PUNISHED
Intoxicated In Charge By Telegraph.—Press Association. Marton, December 17. As a sequel to a collision at an intersection recently in Marton, A. L. Wheeler, well-known sheep-breeder of Leedstown, and W. W. D. Strombom, farmer, Bonny Glen, appeared before Mr. R. M. Watson, S.M., this afternoon, charged with intoxication in charge of motor-cars. Wheeler pleaded guilty and Strombom defended the case. Both were convicted and had their licences cancelled until May 31, 1938. Wheeler was fined £3O with costs, and Strombom £2O with costs. Stressing the serious consequences likely to follow the improper handling of motor-vehicles, the magistrate remarked that intoxication charges could not be treated lightly.
