NEW OPERA HOUSE
“Hoity Toity” Revue The season of “Hoity Toity” by the New Anglo-American Revue Co. (a Connors and Paul production) which has just completed very successful seasons in Alelbourne and Sydney should prove immensely popular in AVellington if Australian successes can be taken as a criterion. The season of two weeks and four nights commences at the New Opera House on Boxing Day with a matinee performance. It is the intention of the management to present three completely new revues, also to stage a gorgeous pantomime, “'Robinson Crusoe,” at all matinees for the week commencing Saturday, January 1. This will give children a treat that they all too seldom have the opportunity of witnessing. The leading comedian of the company is Syd Beck (who will, also play dame in the pantomime). He is the only specialty artist on the bill who is not either an English, American or Continental actor, so New Zealand theatregoers can look forward to witnessing some of the finest acts ever brought to the Dominion, where theatregoers have shown very clearly that first-class vaudeville — especially overseas acts —will always be welcome.
The “Films and the Stage” page, which usually appears on Friday, will this week appear in Saturday’s issue.
