MR. HIROTA’S REGRETS
Death Of Italian Press Correspondent
(Received December 16, 5.30 p.m.)
Rome, December 15.
Italy is not protesting to Japan regarding the death of Signor Sandro Sandri, correspondent of the Turin paper “Stampa,’’ in the bombing on the Yangtze River. The ship he was on was not Italian, and the incident is regarded as a tragic accident. A message from Tokio reports that the Foreign Minister, Mr. Hirota, has expressed his regrets to the Italian Ambassador at the death of Signor Sandri.
