WESTLAND HANDICAPS
The following are the handicaps for the Westland Racing Club’s meeting, to be held at Hokitika on December 27: — ' MAIDEN STAKES, of £7O. Six furlongs.
bv Rowley from the Provocation mare Six O’clock, was worked by J. J. Waller. He is fairly well forward, having beeu hacked about at home, and is to race in the Bracelet at Marton. Warehi, formerly trained at Otaki, has been taken in hand by C. Thomson, who has applied for a trainer's licence, while Bing Boy is the latest addition to L. Knapp’s team. Surmount, who still has a heavy cold on him, has been taken over by his owner, Mr. C. W. Boyd, who still entertains the idea of taking the colt to Auckland. Surmount, however, has got very low in condition in the pant few days and looks more like being iu need of a let-up.
