A speed limit of 30 miles an hour In built-up areas, a prima facie speed limit of 50 miles an hour in streets not in a built-up area, and regulations to empower the fixing of governors to cars to prevent exceeding of the speed limit in cases where drivers have been convicted of offences entailing disqualification from holding a licence were agreed to by the Legislative Assembly when the Motor Traffic Amendment Bill passed all stages.
