Championship Trophies
Presented
The Y.M.C.A. gymnastic championships held during the past wegk made a fitting conclusion to the successful activities in this direction of the Wellington Y.M.C.A. for the 1937 season. The value of the competitive aspect in recreational training, specially for boys aud girls, was fully proved by the enthusiasm displayed by the members who competed in the various sections. Results were as follows:— Senior cup: E. W. McConchie, 1; R. Lawther, 2; D, Niven, 3. Junior cup : N. Perre.tt, 1; K,‘ Campbell, 2. Girjs’ cup: M. Kinross, 1; D. Waugh, 2; E. Paton, 3. Boys under 10: S. Palmer, 1; M. Fraser, 2; C. St. Clare, 3. Boys, 10-14 years: R. Byng, 1; R, Moss, 2; K. Backhouse, 3. Monday night boys: M. Reeves, 1; W. Spierling, 2; R. Hamilton, 3. Wednesday night boys: F. Blanchard, 1: I. Cooze, 2; N. Cottingham, 3. Certificates for pupils showing most improvement were presented to Misses N. PJackett, S. Kinross, B. Campbell, E, Tate, P. Rose, and to Masters E. Osborne, D. McNamara, and K. Rathbone.
