Egyptian Crowd Tragedy
Alexandra, September 26.
When King Farouk appeared at a window of the palace to acknowledge the congratulations of 150,000 workmen on his engagement, the crowd rushed the gates to obtain a closer view, and 30 were crushed to death and 200 injured. The King will defray the cost of the funerals of the victims and will compensate relatives of the dead and injured.
