YESTERDAY’S WEATHER

Wellington.—Fair, mild and pleasant, with a strong, squally north-westerly wind. Rain set. in eaTly in the evening. The minimum temperature on Sunday night was 45.2 decrees, the maximum yesterday 58.9 degrees, and the temperature at 3.30 p.m. yesterday 58.1 degrees. Palmerston North.—Overcast and threatening, with a boisterous westerly wind Masterton. —Cloudy in the morning with rain threatening, and a strong northerly wind. Afternoon bright and sunny with passing cloud. Wanganui.—Sunny, with passing clouds and a strong westerly wind. Sea rough at Wanganui Heads. The barometer reading at 5 p.m. was 29.74, and the glass had a slight falling tendency. Waipukurau.—A frost in the early morning was followed by a sunny day. but there was a cold wind throughout. Napier and Hastings.—A beautiful sunny day following a frost. Light south wind. Auckland. —Showery with a moderate to frosh south-west wind. Temperatures were mild. The barometer pressure was steady, the reading at 5 p.m. being 29.80 inches. Christchurch. —Fine and sunny in the morning, with a strong north-west wind. About 2 p.m. the wind changed suddenly to the south-west and increased to gale force. There were several passing showers. The barometer read 29.51 inches at 5 p.m., and was rising steeply. Dunedin.— Cold with heavy rain showers and a light fall of snow on the hills. There was a gusty south-west wind which reached considerable velocity nt times. Tlie barometer fell to 29.10 inches in the morning, but. rose sharrdy in the afternoon to 29.70 inches. The maximum temperature was 57 degrees, and the minimum 37 degrees.
