Traffic Offenders Fined A number of by-law cases were dealt with yesterday by Mr. W. F. StilWell, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Wellington. Mr. A. R. Cooper of the city solicitor’s office, prosecuted. Raymond Henry Waddington was fined £2 and costs for exceeding SO miles an hour. He was stated to have driven along Thorndon Quay at 40 to 44 miles an hour. The road was dry, and traffic heavy at the time. G. Gallagher was fined 30/- and costs for exceeding 30 miles an hour. He was stated to have driven a taxi at 42 miles an hour along the Seatoun Road. Wilfred Clarry was fined 10/- and costs and Eric Underwood was ordered to pay costs for drawing up less than 15ft. from the building line. Kenneth Beehag was fined 10/- and costs for failing to pull up a car in half the visible distance ahead. He was stated to have collided with a lorry preceding him. Kathleen Griffith Hewson was fined 10/- and costs for failing to drive parallel with the kerb. Albert Comfort and Leonard George Young were each fined 10/and costs for driving without due care and attention. . . Albert Gooch was fined 10/- and costs for failing to have lights on a motor vehicle. The Evans Bay Timber Company, Ltd., was ordered to pay costs for failing to display a heavy traffic disc on a motorlorry. Frederick Bruce Leighton was fined 10/- and costs and Robert Penny was ordered to pay costs for having insufficient foot-rests on a motor-cycle. Penny was also fined 10/- and costs for riding without a licence. It was stated that Penny was riding the cycle, and Leighton was on the pillion. There was only one set of foot-rests, and Penny did not possess a driving licence. Ole Ramstad was fined 10/- and costs for failing to observe the right-hand rule. Phillip Allen, James William Carr, Tindall Richardson, John Patrick Rea, and Arthur Sutherland were each fined 10/- and costs for breached of the city parking regulations.

Lewis Tristam was fined £1 and costs and James Feely was fined 15/- and costs for allowing stock to wander.
