WEDDING IN SUSSEX

Bride and 'Groom From New Zealand The wedding is reported from England of Elisabeth Grace, only daughter of the late lion. Mr. Justice Alpers and of Mrs. O. T. J. Alpers (Christchurch), to Dr. Joseph Richard Dawson, of London, and formerly of Dunedin, elder son of Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Dawson, Dunedin. The marriage took place on July 9 at the parish church, Ardingly, Sussex, England, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. E. C Crosse, a former headmaster of Christ’s College, Christchurch, who was assisted by the Rev. J. Brack, ruial dean of the diocese of Chichester. The service was choral. The bride wore a blue and white figured frock and a white hat, and carried a sheaf of madonna lilies. Only immediate relatives were present, tiiese including the bride’s mother, the’ bride’s aunt and godmother, Mrs. J. W. L. Burmester, and Mr. Burmester, the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. J. B. Dawson, and the bridegroom's sister, Miss Lorraine Dawson, and Mrs. E. C. Crosse. After the ceremony, those present were entertained at tea by the headmaster of Ardingly College and Mrs. Crosse. London Wedding A wedding of interest to Wellington and Palmerston North was celebrated at the Church of St. Clement Danes, London, recently, when Miss Mary Dorothy Kean was married to Mr. John Roff Finlay Best. The bride is the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Kean, of Hyde Park Terrace. London, and granddaughter of the late Mr. C. E. XValdegrave, of Palmerston North. The bridegroom is a former Cambridge stroke, and more recently coach to Cambridge oarsmen. LATEST KNITTED STYLES.
