Don Cossack Choir To-morrow
event of more than usual importance takes place in Wellington to-morrow night, when Messrs. .1, C. Williamson and J. and N. Tait, in association with Alexandre Levitoff, present for the first time in tills part of the world, General Platoff’s Don Cossack Choir. This world-renowned body of male singers submit what is acknowledged lo be brilliant performances —gems of perfect voice blending and profoundly stirring. There is in the choir a remarkable baritone basso, known as an oetnva voice, with a phenomenal range; a tenor falsetto whose top notes rise to almost unbelievable sweetness: soloists and dancers. Ivanoff, the knife dancer, performs an amazing solo dance that rouses audiences to frenzied enthusiasm in keeping with the daring of the item. The background is as smooth as velvet, and serves to show tdie marvellous power of the choir's renowned conductor, Nicolas Kostrukoff. The war songs of the Cossacks; the lyrical melodies and airs of great Russia, witli all their emotions and sentiment, are portrayed by these dashing visitors. Audiences will revel in their artistic performances.
