DON COSSACK CHOIR
At New Opera House i To-morrow The Don Cossack Choir, bringing with it a reputation for artistry which it lias built up in (lie most- musical countries of the world, will open a season at the New Opera House fo-morrow. The war songs of (he Cossacks, the lyrical melodies and the airs of Great Russia, with all their emotions and sentiment, are. portrayed in the artistic performance of this famous choir. The voices of these men are of admirable quality and of a power unknown among most European peoples. Those of the basses have often been compared with the pedal tones of an organ, they possess such breadth aud solidity. Above them sound harmoniously tlie notes of tile baritones and tenors, equally remarkable in qualtiy, breadth and resilience. An attractive feature of the performance will be the whirlwind dancing of the singers. The conductor. N. Kostrukoff, has won for himself and his callable singers a distinctive place in the musical world hi the space of a very few years.
