BRIDGE PARTY
The last of many parties that have been given for Miss Kathleen Haire before she leaves to-morrow by the Ruahine for England and Ireland took place last night, when Mrs. Bernard White was hostess for a delightful evening of bridge at her home in Hawkestone Street. The tables had been arranged in the pink drawing-room, which had hydrangeas in soft greens and autumnal pinks placed about in tastefully-decorative fashion. Mrs. White wore a becoming green frock to receive her guests. “BON VOYAGE” TEA Mrs. E. Whiteacre, who will leave Wellington for England by the Rangitane on Thursday, was guest of honour at an afternoon tea given at the Hotel St. George yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Wallace James, Lyall Bay. Mrs. James, who was wearing a frock of black satin crepe, a fur coat and a black velour bat, presented Mrs. Whiteacre with a shoulder spray of everlasting Howers and wished her “Bon Voyage,’’ these good wishes being echoed by her friends who were present. Afternoon tea was served, the tea table being decorated with -autumn blooms. Mrs. James's guests were Mrs. A. Elliott, Mrs. S. Bailey, Mr. Lockie, Mrs. Peachey, Miss Eleanor Whiteacre, Miss Moya Whiteacre.
