THESPIAN PRODUCTION TO-NIGHT

The production of a costume play is always an event in the theatre. The Thespian presentation of J. B. Fagan'sbrilliantly successful sevenfeenth-een-tury comedy. “And So to Bed,” will open a four-night season in the Wellington Town Hall Concert Chamber to-night. “And So to Bed” introduces, in cleverlywritten, lifelike character sketches, portraits of Samuel Pepys, Charles 11. Mrs. Pepys, Miw. Knight, the famous winger of that time, and many characters from the pages of Pcpys’s immortal diary, in a delightful comedy, so true to the spirit of the diary that it: might easily have been taken from its pages. No effort has been spared by the Thespians to make this production their best to date. A very strong cast is engaged iu the production, including many performers well known to Wellington audiences. The play is being produced by D. G. Edwards, with Victor S. Lloyd as advisory director. The box plan is at Begg's.
