FASHIONABLE HOTEL RAIDED
New York Jewel Robbery (Received April 19, 7.35 p.m.) ■ New York, April 18. Three bandits entered a fashionable hotel in Park Avenue, menaced four guests and a lift operator with guns, took 15,000 dollars worth of jewels and money, and forced the victims, one of whom was a retired industrialist and the others women, to leave the lift at the eleventh floor. They then threatened the lift operator with death unless he remained silent until their departure, and strolled unnoticed through the crowded lobby and escaped in a stolen motorcar which later they abandoned.
