HOUSING SCHEME
Upper Hutt Council’s Action CONTRACTORS TO BE MET Steps toward giving effect to the housing scheme at Upper Hutt are being pushed forward by the Hyper Hutt Borough Council. The council s housing committee is to meet local building contractors on Saturday morning to consider the scheme. The committee, it was stated, at a meeting of the council last night, understands that the Housing Department would permit bouses to be built upon any land within the borough. On the recommendation of the committee the.council decided that before making formal application for a loan, persons wishing to rent or purchase houses should make application to the committee through the town clerk and that people having unoccupied land for sale should quote the lowest cash l>nce for each, allotment.
