ST. MARY’S GUILD
Mrs. Wallis occupied the chair at the April meeting of St. Mary’s' 1 Guild, there being a large attendance of members. Miss Parlane, head matron, reported that all the inmates of the homes were in excellent health, i On reaching the age of seven, four little boys have recently been transferred ito St James’s Anglican Home for Boys, Lower Hutt and three small children have returned to their father. Owing to the death of Colonel Campbell it has been necessary for the guild to elect a new advisory trustee in his place. Mr. P. J. Townley accepted nomination, and was elected. It was thought advisable to increase the number of trustees from three to four, Mr. H. E. Evans being elected. The guild expressed its gratitude to all who had in any way given their service during tho year and to all who bad donated gifts of any description.
At their last meeting members and friends of the Peter Pan Players listened with great interest and appreciation to the reading of Sidney Howard’s comedy, “The Silver Cord.” Members reading were Madame Bligh, Mrs. R. M. Kane, Miss P. Melhuish, Mr. A. Webster, and Mr. H. M. Sansum, with stage directions by Mrs. R. S. Mclnnes. The reading was held in Madame Bligh’s studio, Waitpa Road, Hataital.
