WEDDINGS
Needham—McMahon
The wedding took place at/St. Margaret’s Church, Tailmix?, recently, of Thorn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McMahon, and Kenneth, sou of Mr. and Mrs. Needham. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. Watkins, Mangavveka. Mrs. Hayes was at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of parchment lace over cream satin. It fell away at the back into a fan-shaped train which was edged with pleated net. The embroidered veil was held in place by a coronet Of small arum lilies ami orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of lilies.
She "as attended by Misses Eva McMahon, her sister, and Renee Kilkolly, who wore frocks of pale pinkgeorgette over taffeta, with cowl shaped necks trimmed with hand-made Howers, and sashes, which were plaited round the waist, falling away in graceful pleats at the back. They carried bouquets of pink flowers and wore wreaths of hand-made pink rosesr Misses Mary and Josephine McHardy, nieces of the bride, were flower-girls, in frocks of blue stiffened net over taffeta, made in Victorian style, trimmed with pale blue forget-me-nots. They carried muffs of blue velvet with capes to match and wore hand-made blue flowers round the head. Posies of pink rosebuds were attached to their muffs.
The best man was Mr. Theo Needham, and Mr. Jack McMahon was groomsman. A. reception was held in the town hall supper room, where Mrs. McMahon, mother of the bride, received her guests wearing a frock of brown spotted satin and brown velour bat. She carried a bouquet of autumn-tint-ed flowers. The bridegroom’s mother was dressed in a. black lace frock with a black velour hat. Her bouquet was of red flowers.
When the bride and bridegroom left for the north Mrs. Needham was wearing a smart tailored suit in fawn and brown, a brown velour hat and skunk stole.
