DERATING RURAL LANDS
Masterton Farmers’ Remit Dominion Special Service. Masterton, April 19. At the annual meeting of the Masterton branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union to-day the following remit was adopted for (lie consideration of the conference : "That this conference presses for the derating of rural lands to be brought about by the application to the roads of all funds collected by motor taxation.” Another remit read that all farm workers be provided with a form of discharge similar to that in use at sea as an indication to prospective employers of the nature and duration of the employment of the applicant for farm work.
