LODGE MEETINGS

Grand United Order of Oddfellows 'l’he quarterly meeting of the Loyal Central branch of the Grand United Order of Oddfellows, was presided over by the N.G., Sister Wallace, 'rhe election of officers for I lie ensuing term resulted as follows: N.G., Bro. V. Fry; I’.N.G., Sister Wallace; V.G., Bro. Kennedy; secretary, Bro. Hooper; treasurer, Bro. Casey; rec. secretary, Bru. McQueen; 1.G., Bro. Couper; 0.G., Bro. Hutcliinson; R.S.N.G., Bro. Newson; L.S.N.G., Bro. Gordon; R.S.V.G., Bro. Hallom; L.S.A'.G., Bro. Blackie. After supper, curds and games were played. Star of Newtown Lodge. There was a large attendance at the quarterly meeting of the Star of Newtown branch, over which Sister Cooper, N. presided. The election of officers resulted as follows: N.G., Sister Annie Morgan; V.G., Sister M. Davis; secretary, Sister Hodgson; treasurer, Sister Griffiths; rec. secretary, Sister E. Mari ony: warden, Sister Paulger; 0.G., Bro. Saunders; R.S.N.G., Bro. Andersen; L.S.N.G. Sister Mantell; R.S.V.G., Sister Norton; L.S.V.G., Sister Olsen; P.N.G., Sister Cooper. Several visiting members were present, and were given a hearty welcome. At the conclusion of the meeting a presentation was made to Sister Mann, who is leaving the district to be married. Dancing concluded a pleasant evening. Loyal Ryde Lodge. Bro. A. Thomae. N.G., presided over a large attendance of members at the quarterly meeting of Loyal Ryde branch. Bro. Tingay presented a report of the proceedings of the annual district delegate meeting. The election of officers resulted as follows: N.G., Bro. Rabbit; V.G., Bro. Angel; F.S., Bro. Norton; treasurer, Bro. Pearce; rec. secretary, Bro. Tingay; O. Sister Butters; 1.G.. Bro. Abbott; warden, Bro. Elliot; R.S.N.G., Bro. Thomas; L.S.N.G., Sister Sinclair; R.S.V.G., Sister Bennett; L.S.V.G., Bro. Ryde. Supper and games concluded the evening. Independent Order of Oddfellows Rebekah Lodge No. 85, Ngaio. At the fortnightly meeting of Ngaio Rebekah Lodge, Independent Order of Oddfellows, Sister Godfrey, N.G., presided over a good attendance. Visitors included P.L.D.D.G.M., Sister Sargent, and members representing Victoria, Esther. Rahiri, Hiwa, Rose of Wellington and Cleveland lodges. The following officers were installed : P.N.G., Sister Godfrey; N.G., Sister Connolly: V.G.. Sister Norton; rec. secretary, Sister McGill: secretary, Sister Cody; treasurer, Sister Hudson : warden, Sister Kirkland ; conductor, Sister Hoskings; chaplain, Sister Strong; R.S.N.G., Sister Thompson: L.S.N.G., Sister Astwood; R.S.V.G., Sister Hunter; L.S.V.G., Sister Adams; 1.G., Sister O’Neill; 0.G., Sister Bracey; musician, Sister Hope.
