Arrest Reveals Stolen Articles
Admitting theft of a man’s overcoat, scarf, and six tennis balls, the property of Howard Dudley Reid, of a total value of £ll/0/6, John Colston, aged 27, labourer, was sentenced yesterday to two months’ jail to be served concurrently with a sentence of three months for unlawful conversion of a motor-ear and one month for theft at Auckland, which he is now serving. He appeared before Mr. W. F. Stilwell in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court: Detective-Sergeant P. Doyle said the articles disappeared from a car in a garage on the Terrace. When Colston was arrested at Auckland for the conversion of a car the articles were found.
