Government Loans in Demand BANKS MORE ACTIVE Dealings in bank shares comprised the major part of the turnover recorded yesterday on the Wellington Stock Exchange. Prices were generally firm on an active demand in this section of the marGovermnent loans attracted considerable interest yesterday, most of the listed issues being quoted at steady rates, but there was no response from holders aud no actual sales were recorded. Industrial and trading issues were generally quiet and showed an easy tone on a sluggish market. Business recorded on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday was as follows :—

Cash Orders (Amalgamated), Ltd. The directors of Osh Orders (Amalgamated) Ltd. advise that the recent issue of 100,000 £1 cumulative preference shares has been over-subscribed, and that two calls of 5/- each per share have been made, payable .Tune 1 and July 1, making th? shares fully paid. A special meeting of shareholders will consider a resolution altering the conditions attached to all the preference shares allotted on April 9 so as to make them rank in every respect equal to the preference shares previously issued.
