SPRINGBOK LEADERS SELECTED
— Popular Choice of Nel as Captain Cape Town, April 16. At a meeting at Cape Town the South African Rugby Board selected P. J. Nel, the Natal forward, captain of the Springbok team for the tour of Australia and New Zealand, and D. Craven, the Eastern Province scrumhalf, as vice-captain. The selection qommittee will consist of tiie-captain and vice-captain, together with M. M. Louw, L. C. Strachan and G. Brand. The manager or assistant-manager will preside without having a vote. The choice of Nel and Craven will have the unqualified approval of all followers of the game in South Africa. Nel is quiet, almost reserved, off the field, but a lion for work during the play. He is a keen student of Rugby whose advice carries great weight. He is. certain to be immensely popular in Australia and New Zealand.
