Print, of 8 Mere Mere A venue, Palmerston North, cede-1 brated the (jOt.h anniversary of their wedding on Saturday, and were the recipients of numerous congratulations. Their life has been a full and busy one, and the story of it is most interesting. A two-roomed cottage, amid flax and scrub, at Makino, was the scene of their marriage on April 17, 1877, the late Rev. P. AV. Jones beiug the officiating minister. There were no attendants, but among those at the ceremony ■were the late Mr. and Mrs. Phillips,' of Feildlng, and Mr. and Airs. Bennett, of Awahurl, the last-named making the wedding cake. Ou Saturday there was a happy family reunion at the residence, at which, in addition to the members of Mr. and Mrs. Print’s family, there were present Mrs. F. Cockburn (Marton), Mrs. E. Peuberthy (Newbury), sisters of Mrs. Print; Mrs. Print (Kairanga) and Mrs. B. Gould (Feildlng), sisters-in-law; Mr. J. Gould (Rougotea), brother of Mrs. Print; Rev. J. 11. Haslam, AVellington, an old friend; also Mr. and Airs. G. C. Petersen, Mr. and Mrs. Ashworth, Miss C. Cairns and other close- friends.

It was arranged that there be two wedding cakes, one made by Airs. Cockburn and the other by a grandson, and in addition to many other tokens Airs. Print was presented with a posy.

arc!, and Alys. J. R. Tricker won a competition in aid of the Plunket funds. Carterton. Aliss O. AVolters presided over the recent meeting of the Carterton Women’s Institute. She stated that Airs. A. Pink had agreed to act as secretary and treasurer for the coming year. Alesdames L. H. R. Aplin and J. AlcKenzie were elected as vice-presidents. Mrs. T. Hughes is to be in charge of the notice board and- Airs. L. Sorenson in charge of the competitions. The two vice-presidents were appointed to attend the yearly conference at Masterton on April 21. Competitions for uext month are to be for six plain scones and a'nut loaf. The garden circle undertook to provide a wreath to be placed on the memorial on AnzacDay. .Arrangements were made for the sale of poppies and for providing afternoon tea for the returned soldiers. It was decided to hold the institute birthday party next mouth. A round table Conference was held to discuss the remits to go before the annual council meeting. Kaiparoro. The April meeting of the Kaipororo Women’s Institute was held recently, when officers were elected as follows:— President, Aliss L. Dick; secretary. Airs. J. C. McAnulty; vice-president, Mrs. C. AVelch. Aliss Dick -presided over a good attendance of members. The meeting began excellently, the new officers doing their best to make it as interesting as passible. A number of Rougokokako institute members were also, present. The following are the results of competitions: The flower for the mon th: Miss Parry, 1; Airs. G. Hansen, 2. Rock garden on dinner plate: Airs. G. Hansen, 1; Airs. J. C. McAnulty, 2. Jam competition: Airs. G. Hansen, 1; Mrs. Bassett, 2. Airs. Barter, Alasterton, gave a very interesting talk on emigration. Aliss Dick, with a few well-chosen words, thanked the speaker and asked members to show their appreciation by acclamation. The National Anthem brought a happy meeting to a close.
