NAVAL MEN AT FOOTBALL AND CRICKET
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, April 18. With the Australian warships in port a series of sports events was arranged on Saturday afternoon, when line weather prevailed. A soccer match at Blandford Park, between teams representing the New Zealand and Australian squadrons, resulted in a win for the former by five goals to one. Cotterell (2), Brown (2) and Chatlen scored for New Zealand and Fleming for Australia. A Itugby match at the showgrounds between teams from the Achilles and the Sydney was won by the former by 24 points to three. In a cricket, contest, Auckland Grammar School defeated a Canberra eleven, (he former scoring 115 for seven wickets (declared) and Canberra 109.
