WRESTLING TO-NIGHT
First Appearance of Jewish Champion Sammy Stein, the Jewish professional wrestling champion who is to make his New Zealand debut against Don Mclntyre at the Wellington Town Hall tonight, arrived in the city at the weekend and created a highly favourable impression on all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Stein is a tine example of the modern wrestling type, cultured and well spoken. In his activities in the ring he has established himself definitely as a leading star, and his record includes some memorable matches. He has held the Jewish title for seven years and has several times come very close to winning the world’s championship. Also, he is the only wrestler who has beaten "Strangler” Lewis by two straight falls. Stein is a highly spectacular wrestler who relies upon flying tackles to finish off his opponents after he has made use of anv of a wide variety of holds to pave the way for the coup de grace. His opponent is also a highly qualified performer and delighted the large Auckland crowd who saw him in action against Blomfield last week. The amateur preliminarieis will comprise a test match between Australia and New Zealand.
