The Trust Agency of Australasia has decided to pay a dividend of 21 per cent, of the arrears on the preference shares. Golden Sands Year The annual report of Golden Sands, Ltd., for the year ended March 31 last states that the number of shifts worked during the period under review was 694, as compared with 638 in the previous year. The total amount of gold produced during the year was 6930 z. 15dwt..> of n | net value of £5144/3/5. The average pro- | duction of loz. .per shift was somewhat J lower than the previous year’s average. | which was mainly due to the fact that the stony and shallow southern portion of the claim had to be cleaned up from the present position of the plant. The exceptionally heavy rains experienced during the year on the West Const also affected the output. The annual accounts disclose a net profit, of £2696/12/11, which, after adding the amount of £753/2/4 brought for- | ward from last year, and deducting £29 3/3 additional income tax paid, leaves £3420/12/- to be dealt: with. An interim' dividend of 10. per cent. (£700), making a £.1050, has already been paid during the year, and since the close of the financial year the directors have declared a final dividend of 1 per cent. £7O), making a total of 25 per cent, for the year. It is estimated that the plant will have to be shifted to a new site in about two years, and the directors deem it advisable to create a reserve fund to meet this expenditure.
