Wellington Centre Closes Season Winners of competitions conducted by the Wellington Bowling Centre thia season, delegates to the centre, officials and members of the Lyall Bay Bowling Club gathered at the club’s green on Saturday for the presentation of trophies which marks the dosing of the season officially. In spite of a sharp southerly, there was a large gathering, including the president of the New Zealand Bowling Association, Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C. Games were played before afternoon tea and the ceremony. The trophies were presented by the president of the centre, Mr. W. Gilbert, who remarked that the season had not been completely successful because the weather had been so bad, but, like true bowlers, they hud got through it. He thanked the officials of the centre and the clubs and members of clubs for the assistance they had given in the conduct of the game during the season. Mr. Gilbert congratulated the winners of the competitions. Mr. Perry also congratulated the winners of the trophies and made an appeal to bowlers to support the King George V Memorial Fund.

Wellings, P. McWhannell (Hataitai). Runners-up, Gisborne Rose Bowl:_G. Springball, J. B. Horwood, It. C. Watson, M. J. Casey (Thorndon). Champion singles, Singles Cup: O. Silbery (Petone). Champion pairs: D. Munro, J. Laurie (Island Bay). Champion rinks, Rinks Trophy: J. M. Porter, P. O'Connor, O. Webster, W. Lewis (Newtown). Senior pennant: Victoria club.

Junior pennant, junior stars: Petone club. Junior singles, Lou Smith Cup: G. C. Smith (Kelburn). Country pennant: Otaki club. Mid-week competition: Kelburn club. Easter rinks: S. King, W. Marshall, A. McLean, G. H. Noad (Lyall Bay). Runners-up: W. Warner, J. O'Gorrnan, P. Skoghind, T. J. Skoglund (Wellington). Centre Gold Medal for winning five centre certificates: W. A. Wellings (Hataitai). Edwin Feathei’s The Newtown Bowling Club, which won the Edwin Feathers by defeating Petone last week, became the holders of the tronby for the season 1936-37 by a win against Karori ou Saturday, this being the last game of the scries.
