CONVALESCENT HOME
The trustees of the Wellington Convalescent Home held the last meeting of the financial year recently. Mrs. Martin was in the chair. A vote of thanks was passed to the mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, for the grant received from Lord Nuffield’s gift to the city. Much repair work that urgently needed doing may now be accomplished. The matron reported that 187 patients had passed through the home during the year, a large number of these being unable to contribute anything toward their expenses. Gifts received from various donors were acknowledged with thanks.
