ANNUAL REUNION OF OLD COMRADES
Members of the Old Comrades’ Association will hold their annual reunion to-day. The association is comprised ot men who served in the Armed Constabulary as far back as 1874, and later transferred to the Civil Police, also to the Permanent Militia, the first defence force formed in the colony in ISB2. The latter unit was divided into two sections and then became the Permanent Artillery and Torpedo Corps. In 1905 they were redesignated tlie lloyal New Zealand Artillery and Royal New Zealand Engineers.
The reunion will take the form of a parade in the afternoon and a social gathering in the evening. The old comrades will assemble at the Garrison Hall. Buckle Street, where a short service will be conducted by the Rev. A. Muriel. M.C., 8.A., followed by the placing of a wreath beside the R.N.Z.A. memorial in memory of fallen comrades in the Great War. At the conclusion-of the ceremony, a photograph of members will be taken. In the evening, at 7.45 pan., locmbers will reassemble at the Wellington Returned Soldiers’ Club rooms. 12 Victoria Street, for a social gathering and to exchange reminiscences of former days. The programme will be supplied by members of the Police Force.
