London, March 31. Bread may soon be dearer in Britain than during the war, owing to the increasing severity of the wheat position. London flourmillers have announced the sixth successive increase in the price of standard grade flour in 22 days, and it is now 6/- higher per 2801 b. than on March 7, when it stood at 39/6.

The price of bread, which was 5Jd. per loaf before the war, touched 9Jd. at the close of the war, and reached a peak of lid. in 1925, is now 9d., with a prospect of a halfpenny increase in the next few days.
