Few Hours in Dominion

A business visit of a few hours’ duration was made to New Zealand yesterday by Mr. W. G. Walkley, general manager of the Australian Motorists’ Petrol Co., Ltd., Sydney. lie arrived at Wellington by the Awatea from Sydney in the morning and left again on his return to Australia by the same steamer last evening. Before taking up his present appointment Mr. Walkley was in business in Hawera, rind for several years he was secretary of the North Island Motor Union. Mr. Walkley said on his arrival that generally speaking motorists’ organisations In Australia were just as efficient as they were in New Zealand. However, signposting was not developed in Australia to the extent it was in the Dominion. Business was excellent everywhere in Australia. All the States had had wonderful seasons, particularly Queensland, where there had been the best rains experienced for shears.
